Elementary School Tutoring

My name is Georgie Symmonds Georgákis, and I currently teach 3rd grade at Barton Creek Elementary in Eanes ISD.

Throughout my almost 20 years in education, I have worn many different hats - that of teacher, parent, and administrator - at various public and private schools in Austin. Even during my years as an administrator, I have always been a teacher at heart. I have taught a range of ages (from preschool through 8th grade) and have discovered treasures and trials at each level. I feel alive when surrounded by kids who are questioning, creating, debating, and learning. I enjoy working right along with them, sharing my struggles and triumphs, and modeling my love of learning! 

The only thing better than teaching a whole classroom full of curious kids is TUTORING kids one-on-one or in small groups! That allows me to target a child's specific areas for growth in a way that best aligns with his or her learning style, attention span, personality, and interests.

I love kids of ALL ages, but I feel most comfortable tutoring MATH, READING, and WRITING for 2nd through 5th graders. 

During the summer months, I have a lot of flexibility in terms of days, times, and locations. During the school year, I am only available for tutoring between 3:15 and 5:15 p.m. at Barton Creek Elementary (and on weekends at my house or yours).
